Florence Almeda

A Birth, Postpartum & Abortion Doula

My name is Flo (she/her/hers) and I am a queer, Filipino American birth, postpartum & abortion doula that brings a meditative approach to the reproductive health space. I am currently a member of the NYC Doula Collective and the HOPE Doula Program.

As a descendent of a lineage of birthworkers in the Philippines, I am particularly passionate about serving BIPOC, Asian American, and queer clients. My practice is deeply informed by trauma-informed, reproductive justice, and healing justice lenses. Outside of being a doula, I am a sound artist that believes in the power of music as medicine. In our sessions, we will holistically weave together sound, meditation, breathwork, and gentle somatic exercises to help tune into what feels most intuitive for your body.

With a background in sexual and reproductive health research, I am passionate about connecting my clients with evidence-based resources relevant to their cultures & identities. It is my goal to honor your hopes for support with an kind, listening ear and open heart.
