Hi, I’m Florence!
(she/her/hers)My name is Florence Cecile Camacho Almeda (she/her/hers) and I am a Filipino American full-spectrum doula that brings a meditative approach to the reproductive health space. I am currently a member of the NYC Doula Collective.
As a descendent of a lineage of birthworkers in the Philippines, I feel called to walk this journey alongside you. I’m passionate about working with BIPOC, Asian American, and LGBTQIA+ clients. My approach is grounded in helping you feel connected to your body and intuition through life’s most sacred transitions. For postpartum, it is my goal is to help create a soft landing for you into parenthood by helping establish rhythms, nourishing routines, and building your confidence as a parent.
Outside of being a doula, I am a sound artist that believes in the power of music as medicine. In our sessions, we will holistically weave together sound, meditation, breathwork, and gentle somatic exercises to help tune into what feels most intuitive for your body.
With a background in sexual and reproductive health research, I am passionate about connecting my clients with evidence-based resources relevant to their cultures & identities. It is my goal to honor your hopes for support with an kind, listening ear and open heart.
In my free time, I love listening to ambient music, dancing pole, and hanging out my partner & cat in our home in Bed-Stuy! If my practice feels aligned with your journey, feel free to book a time to chat here.
